620 points for cpu on 3dmark03

i have an e6300 with 512mb ddr400 on a ecs p4m800pro-m and a x800xl. my cpu score was 620 points! this is outrageous. does anyone know the answer to this or how to work this out?
 
OMG I wish I could get scores like that man:rolleyes: ...could be the ram bottlenecking your machine or wrong drivers but dont bet the farm on it.
 
shouldn't i be getting points in the thousands? but ya what kind of drivers,like the mobo ones?? ya i was thinking the ram but im not sure. and in 3dmark05 i get 3808, thats not good for a e6300 is it?
 
oh, i know that. i just sold my gig to one of my friends, and im waiting for my uncle to send me 1.5 gigs of ram, and a new hdd.
 
Even if you have 128 Mb of RAm, you should be in the thousands. Something is wrong. Does the system feel fast? Try another benchmark.
 
I have the same motherboard, except a Pentium D 915 and x800se video and get 2811 in 3dmark at stock everything. 2GB's of memory though. I tried running 1gb and it didnt play BF2 worth a crap.

Drivers or memory i would say.
 
I'd try for a bit more ram and a fresh install of windows if you just moved the hd from another build.

I just ran 3Dmark03 on my pc, and my X2 4200+ stock and my 7800GT @ 475/1165 and got a 15636, not too shabby, but 620 is pretty bad for a core 2!!!!

ya the system is very fast. i tried 3dmark05 and got 3808 on my cpu.

and it plays all games great, its just those benchmarks.

man i hate doing reinstalls of windows! lol i just installed all my games on my pc. and maybe its the mobo? i need to get a job to buy a newer one
 
If the system runs a more modern benchmark like 3dmark05, feels fast, and plays your current games fine..........why does it matter how it runs the obsolete 3Dmark03?
 
Wait, how are you running an AGP X800XL and a C2D at the same time? Am I missing something? Did someone go and release a C2D-compliant mobo with an AGP slot?

It would appear the p4m800pro-m does NOT support c2d.

While it is skt 775 , and does 1066 fsb , the latest bios revision adds support for 'cedarmill' and 'pressler' cpu's....nowhere does it say c2d anything.

You need a new motherboard lillimon.

Frys' E6300 Bundles have been coming with ECS mobos that are C2D compliant and have AGP slots.

ya the p4m800pro-m's are c2d compatible, if it wasnt my pc wouldnt be working right, or stable, and mine is very stable at the moment
 
I had a problem with the 3dmark 03 cpu test a few years ago. Turned out having AGP fast writes off greatly reduced the cpu score. It didn't seem to affect anything else, but for whatever reason turning it on nearly doubled my score.
 
well i got fast write off and agp write off and whihc one u want me to turn on, fast write?
 
ok i did it agian and i got a total, was 7901 and the cpu score was 255! wtf i turned on fast wirte, should i turn on agp write?

Nowhere does it say core2duo.Not in the specs , not in the features , and not in the bios revisions.

Lastly , I'll direct you to the cpu compatability list that you can find on the left of that page. ; cpu support list

Please note , there are NO core2 duo's on that list.

That motherboard is NOT compatible , at least with the 061004 bios , and thats the latest one , so I think you are outta luck.

Guess that's not the problem then , hehehe.

Have you tried running other benchmarks like super pi / orthos etc ? memtest ?
 
hmmmmm....ok.

I dug around at futuremark and I think I have an answer for you.

According to futuremark , older versions of 3dmark/pcmark are not capable of correctly determining cpu data/settings of the newest cpu's , and will therefore return bad data if they run at all.

I'd suggest you can completely disregard the 03/04 benchmarks.
 
It sounds like you might be in the ballpark with that score , and here's why I say that :

My current rig (p4 northy 2.53Ghz,asus p4g8x , 1 Gb ddr400 ,Nvidia 6800GT) scores a whopping 1600 on 3dmark05.....

Now , our ram is similar , and our video cards are close , and you've tripled my score.

It would be worth trying to find a similar system to compare scores to , but I have no idea where to look.I'm still surprized they even make c2d agp motherboards.....

As far as AGP fast write goes ; This allows the cpu and gpu to communicate directly , bypassing ram.This should be on only if your video card supports it.Same goes for agp write.
 
o ok thanks, and u have 1 gb and i have 512, so maybe if i get my 1gb my scores will go up. right now my total score is 7908 or something, will it go up when i get more ram and a sata hdd?
 
there's another part of this you shouldn't forget. You're running a motherboard that supports DDR1 and DDR2. You aren't going to expect great scores with some low end chipset and both versions of memory under support. the memory controllers and everything are all wired in some weird way that probably is not as efficient as it should be. tag on the loose loose timings from the northbridge and you'll probably see a pretty reduced score. probably not to the extent you're feeling, but it probably contributes to a large part.

DL and run the newest version of 3DMark06. When the test finishes, it sends you online and shows your scores with similar scores and were your system falls among systems with similar hardware.
Maybe you can see if there are any discrepancies there...
 
i dont think my pc can run 3dmark06 because my vid card isnt shademodel 3.0 or w/e. and there are no other systems like mine on 03 or 05
 
My old ATi X700pro could run it, so I would assume your X800 could.
Try it! It's worth a shot...
 
The newer V.2 board is compatable with the C2D, not the original. I had one of the orginal boards with a Pentium D and it ran like crap.

My system ran like total crap and I tried for a month to get it working right. I noticed I was scoring very low on memory bandwidth tests. I checked my memory settings using windows apps and realized my memory was clocked at DDR166 1.5-2-2. I tried every memory option in the bios and went through 2 different DDR sets and 3 DDR2 set but the problem continued.

Not certain if this will apply to your C2D but its worth checking.
