Upgrading from a Phenom II x4 955.

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Gaming, Web, Code.

2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
$600, Yes tax and shipping included. I have Amazon Prime. Willing to drive to Microcenter.

3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us the state and city if possible.
US. Temecula, CA.

4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
CPU, MOBO, Case, CPU Cooler, SSD. More RAM?

5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.

PSU - Corsair 550VX
RAM - 6GB Tri Channel G Skill http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231225
HD - 500GB Samsung F3
GPU - ASUS 6870
Sound - ASUS XONAR DG
DVD Burner

I'm not positive but I think the Hyper 212 PLUS would be compatible with a new board, I could keep that. Was considering getting a h60 though?

6) Will you be overclocking?
Yes.

7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it?
27", 1920x1080

8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?

10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
Yes, 8 64.

I think my 6870 will hold up for a bit longer. Didn't put a motherboard in because I haven't done the research. Appreciate the help!

The OC/Tustin Micro Center currently has no i5-4670K processors in stock. Assuming that MC will restock by next weekend, the best deal I could find is:

$180 - Intel Core i5-4670K
$90 - ASRock Z87M Extreme4 (instant $30 discount when purchased with i5-4670K)

I recommend that you omit the Corsair H60 due to cost concerns. Your Hyper 212 Plus should work with your new system as Socket 1150 motherboards share the same mounting holes as Socket 1156.

You can save $10 on the SSD by swapping out the Samsung 840 EVO 120GB SSD for the Crucial M500 120GB SSD. They both perform about the same, but Samsung comes with the better software package.

I need to conduct some more research on RAM and PSU as I believe that you should upgrade those sooner rather than later. But I can't really recommend anything at this moment until I figure out whether I can incorporate those recommendations within your budget.

Definitely going to make the trip to Microcenter now. I can't seem to find the bundle deal for the mATX board though. Only see the one for the ASRock ATX Extreme. As for the Samsung vs Crucial is it worth the $10 extra?

You get $30 off any Socket 1150 motherboard you purchase alongside the i5-4670K.

The benchmarks give the edge to the Samsung 840 EVO, but either SSD would offer a noticeable improvement over a hard drive.

Thanks for the info, those are some great deals.
