1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc

I'm building this for a friend who is going to be using it for Video and Music editing, and web browsing

2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?

The budget is $600 Tax and shipping not included.

3) Where do you live?

Massachusetts

4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. Please be very specific

Everything besides a monitor, keyboard mouse and speakers.

5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.

Monitor, keyboard mouse and speakers. Its an old CRT monitor that he will be using for now.

6) Will you be overclocking?

No OC needed.

7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?

Currently a 19in CRT, Will upgrade before summers end. or if we can fit it in the builds budget.

8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?

Within the next 2 days.

9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? etc.

Just RAID will work no need for Crossfire of SLI, as this this not a gaming rig.

10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? 32bit or 64bit?

Yes Windows 7 64 bit.

Comments: This will be primarily used for Video and Music editing and they are going to need the best bang for their buck. I am well versed in whats needed for a gaming rig but not so much for a editing one! Please your guys help is much appreciated!

Danny_Bui thx alot man! your always money with the builds so ill prob def rock this out ordering it for her tomorrow.

Are you near a Fry's or Microcenter? If so, take advantage of their bundle deals. MC has a Free mobo w/ CPU purchase promo goin on right now.

Basically, for video/music editing, you want fast storage, a lot of RAM, and many CPU cores/threads. ;) For music recording, you want a good soundcard; M-Audio is a common recommendation in that department.
