Well the article on Anandt while informative does not seem to effect my 5970.

GPU 1 and 2 5970
GPU 3 285GTX

Max temp on core with extreme burning mode was 80.5 C
Max temp on Vram was 99C extreme burning mode can do upto 120 before it effects anything.

Now this is my card and how it runs on extreme burning mode.
My advice turn up fan speed and for anygamer this will not be an issue.

Heres the screen shots.

Interesting.

My only problem is that running the fan at 100% is a little bit unbearable imo.

This might actually be a card where watercooling might be worth the trouble. That kind of clock increase is pretty huge, especially for 2 gpus on the same card.

Yes I hear you there.Noise for me though is not a problem, for all others it will be.

Not for me, 2 4870s with a large shielded soundcard in between the 2, acting as a big heatsink keeps the cards quite hot, they make quite a lot of noise when they spin up for 3d games, theres no way a single 5970 is going to kick out more noise than these 2 :)

Case will be overall cooler as well since its 1 card and I can space my soundcard apart from it, and less cables, less power draw etc.
