I have a Gigabyte Nvidia GeForce FX 5950 Ultra video card (I'm using XP), the original problem I had was getting and nv4_dll crash while palying World of Warcraft.

I read if I unistalled drivers, uninstalled game, then reinstalled drivers then game it would fix my problems. So I removed the drivers, downloaded new ones from the Nvidia website (78.01_winxp2k_english_whql.exe) and tried to install.
Once I got to the InstallSheild Wizard I got an error saying: The NVIDIA Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will not exit.

So I thought maybe I had wrong drivers, so I went to Gigabyte site and downloaded version 71.84, driver_nvidia series_2kxp, and still had the same error.

I followed the FAQ removal instructions but I don't know whats wrong, if anyone knows how to help please explain in the simplest terms possible :)

ahh, i had the same error with my old 5950. try using driver cleaner and uninstall all of nvidias drivers. if that doesent work, then reinstall windows xp. that always works :)

use driver cleaner like his said but get newer drives from nvidia's site...

I ran the driver cleaner twice like it said to in the FAQ, am I just using outdated drivers?

What are the newest drivers that will work for my card atm?

I can't install any drivers without getting the error: The NVIDIA Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit.

Can anyone explain whats going on here? I've uninstalled drivers, ran driver cleaner many times, but can't do anything :(

Hmmm I never had anything like that with my old 5950-modded 5900xt. Did you try updating the mobo drivers? Maybe it's some crazy agp issue that's going on there...
