Hey... i just got an evga 5900se and was trying to oc it some. I used coolbits and did auto-detect and it chose 392/686 (default is 400/700). There's no way this can be right... but it doesn't let you raise up the speeds unless the speeds test and work (raising it over default even just to 401/701 makes it fail). What could the problem be? Is there another way i should try to OC it? One time auto-detect chose 493/886 or somethin... it worked but had artifacts out the ass. I'm sure I could get not tooo far from that though. What should i do? :(

Sounds like the card itself may have problems...you might want to consider and rma and try another one.

Yes something could be wrong with the card. Mine overclocks at 440/820 stable. I think the auto detect did 410/770 for me.

well... i decided to try riva tuner just to see if i had different/better results. I just bumped it up to 410/720 from 400/700 to see what happened. It was perfectly stable... no artifacts... nothing. Could it just be a problem w/ 53.03's or something?? I got 5300ish in 3dmark 03... is that about right?? later i'll try bumpin it up some more to see how high I can get but I still don't see why coolbits is giving me problems...

Isn't the Ram on this card Rated for 700Mhz? (2.8ns). I'd be careful O/Cing the Mem on thi card. The core is fair game though. Does 450 easy.
