5900XT Driver problem HELP!!!!!

i gots a problem guys.....i'm using my computer for a while playing Halo Trial MP...then when i goback to the desktop, my cursor wont move..but the weird thing is that i can highlight things and also click on things, cept i cant see where i'm pointing....

after a few reboots, and only 1 functional cursor afterthat....i restart my computer for the 5th time...but this time after the POST, and after the Win XP Pro flash, the screen says "No Signal" and turns off...

fearing that i did something wrong, i restart again....and again....and again...nothing works. my brother gets the bright idea to use the DVI output on my card, and even that doesnt make the difference

he gets this other bright idea to run in safe mode...and i do it and voíla it works...so i uninstall the vid card drivers...and it also works using the WinXP native drivers....when i reinstall the vid card drivers that i normally use...i'm back in hte same hole.

what the heck is going on here??!?!
 
i thought it was the card, so i let my bro put it in his computer...the only problem he had were some "vertical tearing" whatever that could imply, but other than that its fine...when i try to get it to run in my computer in VGA mode, its fine, but as soon as i changethe resolution, it blanks out.

being that i cant see the screen, i dont know if the OS itself has locked up or a BSOD, i dont know...i have a friggin lan party to go to in the next 2 hours....what the hell can i do???! 5900's dont just grow on trees
 
UPDATE...it works now...dont know why, dont know how....after it was in my bros computer, it worked when i put it back in mine...

my only theory is that it got some internal settings fiddled with when it was in a different computer...but i dont know if there are even such a thing as "internal settings" on a vid card..
