..yes another one of those types of threads ..yay

I have a 5900U coming in on a trade deal, and I am helping friend out with his new A7N8X-X mobo/xp2600/1gig of Kingston HyperX pc3200 ... odd thing is that if I mess with graphic aperature and change it from default of 64 to 128 or anything else ..comp freezes up at intitial boot screen , so I'm thinking his new mobo doesnt like his 9700pro ..or maybe its just a messed up mobo ..dono

He's runnen a generic type 420wtt psu , so I thought maybe my Enermax 430wtt'r would with a bit more juice on 12 and 5v rails would maybe help ..but same results

anyways ..I could possibly trade him for his 9700pro and maybe the 5900u would run better in his rig ..what do you guys think?

your 5900u is faster than his card. my 5900nu (non-ultra) is equal to the radeon 9700 pro, so yours is faster!

and, i not sure about your card but mine, in the manual, says to set graphic aperture to the lowest as possible (i set my to 4mb).

as far as my knowledge, the agp aperture size is the amount of memory that ur computer shares with ur vid card
so you should have the agp aperture size to be half of the RAM that you got for ideal performance

yeah ...but anything over 64 and system freezes at boot screen ..never encountered that before on a comp
