I have a 9500 pro right now and was wondering if I would see a big increase in performance if I went with a 5900 nu.
My specs:
Barton 2500
1 gb pc 2700 ddr
audigy 2
9500 pro
xp pro sp1
aopen ak77-600n m.b.

i wouldnt bother.. your 9500 pro isnt as fast but the 5900nu wouldnt give you performance leaps and bounds over what you have now. your probably good until the next generation cards are out. now if you can get rid of your card for lets say $150 and pick up a 5900nu for $184 and flash it into a 5950 ultra then it might be worth considering

I'd say if you can get even $100 for the 9500Pro then it'd certainly be worth it...

thanks for the replies. But would'nt the 256 mem bus make a difference performance wise on the 5900.

You'd see a nice performance increase going to a 5900nu. Going to a BFG, Gainward, or Albatron 5900nu, and OC or flashing it to a 5950u would give you a very large performance increase.

go ahead if you want to flash one to 5950 specs.. then its certainly worth it :D

thanks again for the replies. I have never been real happy with my 9500 pro. I did the warp 11 bios flash when I first got it. I o.c. it to 330 core 310 mem. Overall it's been a good card, but i play madden 2004 and never got the smooth gameplay i thought i should.
