ok i jus got this card like 2 weeks ago and i also bought i gig of ram as well. im not a total noob but i know how ram helps with games and apps. but what the heck does the ram on the video card do. does it really help with games. Just a question. thanx for replies

all of the textures and polygons and good stuff like that are stored in it,and when your video card's RAM runs out, it goes to your (in this case) gig of ram (although it only uses a part of it which you set in your bios)

How do you set that? I have 256MB of video memory on my card so can I add another 100MB or whatever?

No you can't add ram to your video card....what he was talking about is your "agp aperature" setting in the bios. With 1 gig of ram I would set it to either 128 or 256 depending on which works best for you.

with a 256mb video card u wouldnt even need to set an agp aperture. but if u want to just set it to 128mb.

What does the aperture do/mean? Wouldn't you set it to the amount of ram on your card (256 in my case)?
