5900 "pulsating" time to upgrade?

I have a 5900 overclocked with a 5950 bios. Durring gameplay I get a pulsating as if there is a light source flickering behind the screen. It is most severe in white areas like the sky or background in Rome total war or neverwinter nights. It is not the monitor, my 8500 in my other system does not do it on the same games, same monitor. It is in all games but most annoying in slower rpg types.

I am going to put a 5900 standard bios back in but has any one had this problem? Any links would be cool.
