I am curious as to weather a 590 or 7970 is better (or 680, but iff i get a non-590 card it will probably be a 7970 for my build). I know a 590 is like 30 percent better, but is it worth the stuttering, noise and other SLI crap?

Not always worth it. The 7970 are getting price hiked right now. Look for a 680.

If 220 then go for it. I run sli 780 and some games have sli issues. So if you went 590 sli, and if yhere is an sli then your performance is cut.

I you dont believe take a look at ebay. At this point I would say the 770 or better is the way to go if buying new. Heck if the card works ill give you 275 just pm me.

I just sold my GTX 590 and I can say that I experienced little to no micro stutter in the majority of games I played, it was a great card and absolutely demolished almost every game I threw at it. That being said, I don't know where you got the GTX 590 being ~30% better. When both are at stock speeds, the GTX 590 is 15-20% faster at best depending on the game. When both overclocked to their max potentials the gap shrinks to about 10% due to the GTX 590's lack of any decent overclocking capabilities. Another thing to consider is the 1.5GB useable VRAM on the GTX 590 and 3GB on the 7970. While most current games will be fine with 1.5GB at 1080p, more modern games are starting to utilize a little more at 1080p (BF4 w/ 4xAA for example). All three cards you listed are beastly, you'd be happy with any of them.
