5870 XXX edition

So I keep seeing that flashing the bios fixes a lot of the 'flickering' issues with eyefinity. If I do flash an xxx will I have to adjust the clock speeds every time I start windows?

Is the xxx worth the exta or should I just overclock a standard 5870?

I would also be interested to hear about this specific issue from anyone with an XXX Edition 5870.
