I can't decide. The PCS++ is slightly cheaper from where i going to be buying from and has 950mhz core stock. But i am an ASUS fan and have heard great things about the V2.
I want a quiet card and both will make me happy there.

Help me decide please :)

I'm an Asus fan aswell, but you can't ignore the pre-overclocked goodness of the powercolor card. I've owned powercolor 4870 pcs+ cards in the past and they were rock solid.

Yup, the ASUS is defo up there then. I'm waiting till the end of september now i think, want to hear more about next gen or 5890.

Just noticed that Overclockers have a Powercolor Eyfinity 6 5870 card (2Gb) for the same price as the ASUS 5870v2 (1Gb) .... Hmmm.

Why are there always more Power Cooler cards sold open box by NE than any other brand? They have a lot of returns that make me question the cards.

I have 2 of the V2's and love them. They are very quiet and cool, and run every thing great.

It does seem like there are a lot more problems with PowerColor cards. ASUS GPUs on the other hand have been pretty solid overall.

powercolor non ref boards usually have cheaper components than asus non ref boards, well at least any I have owned

I can't speak for the PC cards, but the Asus V2 cards are non reference in a good way. You can tweak the voltage, but you need to use the Asus program to do it. I has a bigger fan and heat sink than the reference card. When I benchmark or game my top card is the hottest at 76-79C with the fan running 32-35%. Its pretty silent for a video card, much quieter than the XFX 4890 non reference card I had in my other system. The at idle, the top card runs at 40C with the fan at 20%, bottom card is turned off at 24C and 20% fan.

Are you ever going to use that many displays?

No but a 2Gb 5870 at the price of a 1Gb 5870, seems like a good idea. Plus i'm likely to get a 30" screen in the future somepoint and 2Gb would help at it's res.

So i think you guys (and/or girls) have basically pushed me towards my original choice, the ASUS.
Thank you :)

Probably not, 2Gb has been shown to only help in very high eyefinity resolutions when applying large high levels of AA.

If you're going to force a ton of AA on a game like GTA4 (poorly coded) then yes it will help. But otherwise, not by much.

Go with the ASUS :)
