5870 overclocking issues

Well I just got my XFX 5870 to replace my now dieing 4870X2 , except whenever I adjust the Overdrive core/memory sliders it causes my main display to start flickering non-stop in about 1-2 second intervals. I disconnected my second monitor to see if it would stop and it still wont , it only happens when I start to overclock otherwise everything else works 100 precent fine.

I'm on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit , everything else is rock solid stable and I'm running on a Corsair 750 Watt PSU.


Any suggestions?
 
try using rivatuner or msi afterburner(sp?) instead of overdrive to overclock the card..
 
I tried ATI tray tools , it doesn't seem to matter what tool I use. It keeps flickering , tried just about every option. I'm running on a 120hz monitor .. maybe I should switch to 60hz and see if it is still present.
