5870 or 5970 for my setup

just wondering for my setup would a 5870 be just fine or should I go with 2x5870 or 1x5970. I mostly play wow, cod 4, lfd2, and gta4. I have a Dell 3007wfp-hc monitor.

Quick question, when I play wow, I sometimes get a few sprinkling of dots on the screen and then they go away, it comes up here and there. Could it be the video card or something else?? Seems to happen more when I am either in stormwind or dalaran in wow.

5970 should be cheaper than 5870 crossfire and will clock to 5870 speeds easily if you're willing to overvolt, I have the same monitor and it's a good solution.

Sounds like memory artefacts, it tends to happen when the memory is overheating. It's strange I actually saw this briefly in Osmos earlier in the dark areas around the edge...mines overclocked but normally doesn't get them.

I haven't played a single game that the 5870 struggled with, Crysis(es) included. You'll probably need more power for future games, but considering most of the PC market is console ports, the need for more performance might be tapering off somewhat. If power usage and money aren't a problem, then why not go for more? Personally, I'd get dual 5850's over a single 5970 or dual 5870's, as it offers great bang-for-your-buck if you're into tweaking and overclocking, especially when considering power, cooling, and other factors.

Is it only in WoW or other games as well? If it's only in a single game, chances are the game's the culprit, not the hardware. For reference, what are your system temperatures (Mobo, CPU, Graphics, etc.) when you're gaming?

Temps are just fine for everything, my rig usually never cracks 50c and I have the corsair dominator fan on my ram.

Ok so just wondering now as I picked up 2 of the Visiontek 5850's from the dell deal should I slap those in and sell off the 5870 or based on what I use it for just sell them off to people who didn't get a chance to jump on the deal??
