Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I have a 5870 with a whiney fan, what are my options for replacing it either with the same fan if thats even possible or a third party cooling solution. My card is AMD branded.
If its the reference design aka Rev 1 or Version 1 then there should be a few nice 3rd party cooling options that will be quieter/more efficient than the stock design. I also once saw someone who did a custom cooling solution that kept the stock fan and part of the assembly in place for VRAM and such and a seperate cooler for the GPU core itself.
I run the twin turbo accelerator on my non-reference XFX 5850.
The non-reference cards mainly have non-reference VRM chips, making VRM coolers incompatible (i left the stock one on). Most of the 58XX series use the reference PCB.
