Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Does anyone know the safe temperature limit for these cards? Both of my cards are about the same temp under full load, around 85*C and the bottom card tends to be about 5 to 10* hotter under certain conditions.
@ 90C, and above, the 5870 will clock down (throttle) via the bios settings to keep temps below 90C (just my experience). I found this out the hard way when I left the fan speed on 20% fixed, by accident....no harm done.
Stay below 90C, unless you don't care about the GPU and Mem clock speeds.
Just curious, what is the fan speed (%) when the card is @ 85C?
W/ GPU-Z you can save all your gpu card data during testing to a file, and review it after the test(s)......check it out.
you sure it is the bottom one? usually its cooler than the upper one because it gets cooler air while the upper one sucks the hot air surounding the lower card.
maybe because 5870 uses a blower instead of fan. but still.. should not make the bottom one hotter..
90C is just a little bit high.
I wouldn't do it on anything less than a MB that has a good distance between the PCI slots with lots of air flow in the case and air flow in between the cards.
