5870 Crossfire Eyefinity Corruption...please help

ok so i got my second asus 5870 today. uninstalled all ati stuff. used driversweeper. installed 2nd card, reinstalled 10.2 drivers. detected second card and enabled crossfire on its own. great. only problem is i get some weird graphic corruption, especially when im scrolling on a webpage. the centre screen (dp) is fine. it appears on the outside 2 (dvi). it appears on the bottom half of the outsode screens,transparent with a blackish bar in the middle. it looks like its a ghost of the page im scrolling thorugh. it also happens if the screen changes or when a different webpage loads. its just a brief flicker but it just looks like something is not right. not sure if there is a setting somewhere or if its just a crossfire issue. i tried disabling crossfire in ccc but the issue still appears. i started using 2 bridges, then went to just one. no difference.

if i want to take out the second card and swap it for the orignial for testing both as single cards do i have to do a driver reinstall or can i jsut take the other card out and swap it to test the cards separately?

or is this an issue with the 10,2 drivers?
 
Before swaping out the cards, try to reinstall the drivers, then recreate the Eyefinity group. I get a similar issue periodically when installing Catalyst revisions, but it goes away after rebooting.

Also check to make sure BOTH cards are clocked the same frequency when running in Crossfire. You'll get flickering on your non-primary screens if not.

If it still happens and you need to test each card, you don't need to reinstall drivers each time you switch the cards (my god, that would suck).
 
thanks for your reply.after i posted i decided to try the 2nd card as a single just to make sure it wasnt funky. seemed to work fine. then i plugged the original card in and rebooted. displays went all funky, told me my card wasnt supported by ati blah blah. hit restart button....booted into windows just fine. detected cards, enabled crossfire and eyefinity just fine. my weird corruption seems to have disappeared. i have a feeling it was acting up because initially before i plugged in the 2nd card, i uninstalled the drivers. i think if i had just plugged the damn card in with the existing 10.2 drivers it would have just been fine. after reading your reply i thought about it and i dont know why i bothered to uninstall the drivers in the first place. anyway thanks for your input. next time i do a format im gonna install one card then just plug in the other one after its going. thanks again. time to test game settings...
 
Also there's sometimes a weird issue with 2D clock speeds w/ the 5xxx series. When driving multiple monitors, sometimes the clock speed at idle is too low to properly render everything and you'll get weird artifacting on your second monitor. It's not a hardware problem, and can be fixed pretty easily. Google the issue and you'll probably find something, I can't find the exact thread atm...
 
second question...ive looked online and have found no deinitive answer....im running 5670x1200. do i use 1 bridge or 2 ??

1 but using 2 wont make it better or worse.. so if you want to use both.. then you can but you dont have to.. i know one of the 4k series cards actually showed a performance boost with both bridges installed but thats not the case with the 5k series..

This. There's no difference in performance by adding a second connector; one connector is enough.
 
thats what i thought but there doesnt seem to be a definitve yes or no out there so i had to ask just in case.

anyone have any issues with the 10.2 crossfire app profiles? i installed it when i did the driver install just because i read that you should. but im not so sure im seeing much of a difference in games like dirt 2 or nfs:shift. im assuming u just have to install and forget them. no need to activate the profiles... just wondering if anyone has done some testing on whether they actually do more good then bad or are they not really an issue at this point.? thanks
