5870 blocks

Of those two, I would say the DD block. Some may disagree, but I've used their blocks in the past for nVidia cards and they've always been excellent.

Right now I'm running two EK Acetel + Copper blocks from FrozenCPU.com and I am amazed at the temps!! Down from high 80's to low 50's under load.

The big think with these cards is keeping the VDDC's cool, and the EK blocks flow lots of coolant over that area. Something to keep in mind!

Ended up going with the DD cause of price. Got a new Sapphire 5870 and a waterblock for $440 shipped after cashback, pretty good when the card alone has been selling for that or more.
 
I have been wanting to buy maybe a couple Radeon 5870s, and the EK blocks look high quality as the rest of their line. very impressive. EK has made great blocks in the past. this would change everything, especially if i want to do multiple water cooling loops on my Corei7.
 
used (2) DD 5870 blocks on my XFX cards and they were fantastic
kept the cards really cool even under Furmark, Heaven benchmarks.

Never had the temp go above ~59c with a hotter ambient room.

Well that is good to hear. I unfortunately am a dumbass and somehow picked the DD Summit block when I went through bing cashback, it works for both 5870 and 5850, so hopefully it performs pretty much the same. Didn't even notice until it arrived this afternoon.

My damn card won't be here until Wednesday though cause of the sellers mistakes, so now I am stuck on my old 7900GS as I'm shipping out my 4890 and g92 8800gts in the morning.
 
I have the koolance block in my loop. Running my 5870 at 900/1300 and I've never seen the temps get above 41 degrees.
Just my $0.02
 
I put an EK block on my 5870 today...
temps are very nice....


I'm running it at 950/1310 for both of these runs.

I was getting up around 75 on the stock air cooler...



now its stays around 35..




I'm pretty happy with the results..

I may try for a bigger overclock later on today...:)

Nice guys. I don't even know if I'm going to use either after checking my mailbox, got my speeding ticket, $276 plus whatever traffic school costs these days, and then the college I used to go to said I owe $297 and to pay up before they contact the IRS.
