5850flashed +5870 CF good?

[grandpatzer]

I wonder if it's a good Idea to flash a 5850 to 5870 clocks and buy a 5870 and run them in CrossfireX mode?

would the performance be similar to 2x 5870 or inferior?

It'll perform extremely close. A 5850 at 850/1200 is only about 5-7% slower than a stock 5870.
