Any brands to stay away from? Going to be looking soon. May even go with the 5870:eek:
So long as my Gf don't kill me.......

asus sapphire and msi are all my first recommendations the other companies arent bad, but warranties are better on the other 3 and have a better reputation. i would stay away from xfx though because they have been very bad w/ customer service lately as i have heard

Love my Sapphire 5850. Got it for 299 2-3 weeks ago. the warranty is only 2 years tho. XFX has a life time warranty

get MSI or ASUS if you want sum serious OC's but for top notch warranty get XFX

Remember that it is always easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission. Just do it and maybe you will get lucky. XFX does have an incredible warranty and you should try to get hold of their Black Edition 5850 if you can find them. There is nothing like buying a card that comes with a decent overclock from the factory and still has the lifetime warranty. While we have seen that factory overclocked cards do not overclock better than the regular cards, overclocking will void your warranty.

I have never had to use XFX warranty, but I recently used ASUS for theirs (on an 5850) and I have no complaints from the experience. I would solidly recommend ASUS..and the 5850 :)
