your card runs at load 92C ?? Damn, mine max load (play games for hours) is 70C to 73C and this is at 1.287 voltage. I think you need to mess with the fan profiles. Don't think 90C is too good for the card.

1.287 voltage? seems kind of high? what speed are you running. I have a 5870 bios that works with the 5850. Allows me to run at 950/1300 without a hiccup. Voltage is only around 1.16 max as well.

I will try to lower the voltage down this was just my preliminary results.

"Even 88C at load on stock settings seems kinda high"

Agreed, the Hardocp review had a load temp of 82. Maybe the thermal tape or whatever they use needs time to set or be reapplied? I suppose the sensor could be off also (I was using furmark for reporting). The fan profile used was the stock one and can be adjusted.

Edit, I bet furmark reports Max temp(before fan kicks in to high gear) instead of load temp which is why mine is so high. I'm at work right now so can't check it.

I have an Asus card. What's the point of flashing it to another Asus bios? my core speed is 981. My card needs that much voltage to run stable. Running benchmarks and stuff I can lower the voltage, but if playing games, especially games that run on the techland engines (call of juarez), will lock up after a few hours unless I up the volts.

hello people. my first post. just thought i would share my overclocking results of my new build which includes 5850

phenom II x2 550be@3.9ghz
4gb kingston ddr3@1600
msi 770-c45 with nb clocked @ 2.6ghz(gave me a good boost that)
xfx 5850 (flashed to msi bios. running 1.3v, 1000core, 1240memory
rock stable, highest temps ever seen have been 64degrees with fan profile set at 38% right upto 55degrees)
all housed in antec 900 case

3d mark 05 results 27876
heaven benchmark@ default settings/1680x1050 res= fps45.8 score of 1153

if any one has more tips for card would be extremely grateful, it doesnt like anything more on core, i'm not sure how much more can push volts up.
cheers

He has a modified Asus HD5870 bios made to work on HD5850. It has been tweaked and is supposed to be great. Not sure if it is.

When I was rolling with HD5850 on stock bios it could hit 1030/1250 stable with the fan 100% using AMD GPU tool for frequencies and MSI Afterburner 1.3.0.

Great card.

Very nice results that you have posted.

Did you get 5770 CF or something. I am contemplating on going with a 5770x2 should it ever come out.;)
