5850 Crossfire

i almost grabbed a second one last week to go crossfire, but got an H50 and a 60GB vertex instead. plus, mine are hard to find. XFX vanilla 5850 (not black, not xxx edition), and i'm not willing to pay more for my second card than i did for the first one. guess i will be waiting.

I most likely will be getting another 5850 for my new setup. Looks like same as you guys 2 xfx

I got two Powercolor 5850's going into a $4,000 gaming build for a customer. I am drooling like Steve at a bra factory to get this beast built!

Are monitors including? I assume that includes the price of an Eyefinity setup?

Running two 5850's here. One is an Asus and the other is a Sapphire. With a 3.3ghz i7-860, both cards score 23k in 3dmark06.

I am wanting to do an Eyefinity setup with 3 only of the DVI's but i have heard that I will need to wait for the driver to be updated for crossfire support

yea i am also waiting for eyefinity crossfire support before i buy my second card

Mind if i ask why 2 5850s instead of a single 5870?

Because 2 5850's are faster, by quite a bit. I also have 2x 5850's, though my second is currently in my girlfriends computer until eyefinity works in xfire and I can afford the third monitor :O

No choice. Would've gone 5870, because they were easier to find too! But my case setup and watercooling got in the way... So it's a good compromise. I seem to get consistent scaling on everything I've tried playing using 5850 xfire.

Nope on the Eyefinity. 26" WS LCD, i7 920, 12GB RAM, 2x1TB drives, 1000W modular PS, gaming KB, gaming mouse, Blu-Ray burner, $200 case, $100 sound card, $350 speakers, dual 5850's, liquid cooling on the CPU, $350 mobo, etc. etc. Was more around $3600 after rebates.
