5850 cf vs 6970?

I currently run a i7 3.8 with 2 5850s in crossfire, I am wondering if it would be worth it to sell the 5850s and get one 6970? Will I see an increase in performance? Thanks.
 
Increase in performance? Unknown.
Better experience? Yes.

No need to worry about CF profiles and drivers.
 
If we posit the following as true:
One 5850 is roughly equal to one 6870.
One 6970 is roughly equal to two 6870s.
Then one 6970 will perform about the same as two 5850s.
Albeit with improved tessellation and MLAA capability.
As far as FPS goes though, I don't think you're going to see more FPS from a single 6970 vs two 5850s.

Have no idea what the HD6970 will actually perform like but everyone keeps saying they will be amazing.

I have ran a single HD5850 and it's a good card. Never ran 2 of them.


I'm going to go with a single HD6970 over clocked and water cooled. That sounds like a great set up.
