I have been trying like heck to get an XFX or Asus for a decent price (aka not 319 at microcenter for a 5850 or $439 at zzf for a 5870). I think what some are doing (cough cough almost everyone) is saying they expect them "in a week" and when they don't come, reposting say "next week".

At least that is what I have gathered from these supposed ship dates. I really want the xfx from amazon for 260, but seriously I will jump on these stupid 280-290 deals if I could find one instock.

Ordered one from direct from one of our vendors and it showed up within a couple days. Actually, two of us managed to get one. Didn't even know there was a shortage until I saw all the forum posts.

Got my XFX 5870 and I'm very very pleased.

Alright, I'll bite, but you guys are going to give me hell:

Card:Asus ATI Radeon HD5850
Vendor: http://www.ewiz.com
Cost: $237.49 ($249.99 - 5% Bing Cashback w/ Free Shipping)
Date of Purchase:10/30/2009
Date of Product Reception: UPS says it will be here on Monday : )

I'm just happy to read about the quietness of the stock cooler. I had one of the first run 8800GT's with the terrible stock cooling. Sounded like a hairdryer when it really got rolling.

If you actually got a ship date, then they must have actually had the card. Theres a few threads in this forum about ordering from them thinking the card was in stock, and finding out later they weren't.

Good luck.

If I could order from somewhere else I would. Got newegg autonotify @ 6:27 checked with them by 6:37 and all the 5870's were gone, but the item hadn't been put into autonotify status again yet

Sorry, I was actually talking to DocVego. Ewiz has been pulling some shady stuff with the 5800 cards. Showing stock where there was none.

TigerDirect is OK.Hope both you and doc get a card soon. It's worth waiting a little while for, if the price doesn't go up any more.

BestBuy.com had some XFX 5850's in stock this morning. Mine should be here tomorrow. :)

I ordered the XFX 5870 from Newegg on October 23rd and it arrived on my doorstep on Monday. That was in the days before they jacked up the price of XFX cards. :)

I was lucky enough to get the first batch xfx 5870 for a good price. Very happy with it.

Ordered XFX 5850 from NCIXUS 2 weeks ago. I am being plagued by board problems in my new build, and may have to build a proper gaming rig for this card, and use the current one as an ESX server. I can crank up all the options in my games and see no performance hit at 1920x1080...but because of the board problems I am having, that statement about no performance hit comes at the price of not getting any game (even at 800x600 with no AA/AF) to run above 30FPS. Love the card, hating my build/board.

I'm not sure what it may mean, but Amazon has been dropping the price of Sapphire card today. Yesterday it was at $329. This morning it was at $308, and now it's down to $277.05.

I bought parts for a new system on ZZF on October 16th

I ordered a single XFX 5870 around 3:00pm, around 4:30pm I purchased an additional one...both were for $399... I checked later that night and they were still in stock, but they bumped the price to $439.99...It's been around $435 ever since

Diamond 5850s in stock last night at Fry's in Oregon. They received 5x cards priced at $309 ea.

(Wonder if we can make a sticky for this - one thread with the latest places that have stock of 5000 series cards...)

The B&M store around the corner has 3 Sapphire 5870's in stock, not that that helps anyone here. (Unless you live on Vancouver Island maybe. They do not have online sales.)

It took me 2 weeks to the day to get my XFX 5870 from NCIX.com. I ordered it on the Oct 22.

I'm mostly happy, but I have run into a few issues I was not having with my 8800GTX. I'm hoping driver updates will sort them out. Not that it's anything major, mostly minor annoyances.

I dunno i placed an order on NCIX the day the 5870 came out, it showed up next day

425 CAD
