Ok peoples we got a problem.

Setup is a 2x 5770 cards ment to run 5 displays..

Card 1 = two DVI and it works 2x 37" LCD
Card 2 = DVI, DVI and Display Port (Native) Dell 24s

But on the second card everytime we try to enable the 3rd display it say we have to disable a display before enabling it.... umm ????

Using latest drivers direct from AMD, ATI.
OS is Vista 64

Ideas?

At the moment, all monitors in an eyefinity displaygroup must be run off of the primary card. If Crossfire was supported, it would be all over the forum already..

One of the DVI slots is shared with the Display port. Read kyles review of Eyefinity for more details.

[edit] one of the DVI slots is shared w/ the HDMI

I think you are thinking about the HDMI connector. That is shared with the DVI port. What happens when you just connect one card up with 3 monitors?

I am working with ComMage on this issue as well and right now it only allows us to use 2 monitors on each card for 4 total.

Nothing its only allowing 2 of the 3 2407's to work, we are using 2 dvi and one with a dvi to displayport adapter.

Have you had a monitor connected to display port working by itself?
ie while using the dvi to display port adapter

If you're not using an active dvi to displayport adapter, it isn't going to work.

For the third monitor, you need a native displayport monitor or an active adapter (Around $100 from Dell.com)

you have the link for that?? He bought a displayport to dvi adapter from some place online.

He is correct, I was getting towards that.
[H] had the same problem when reviewing the 5870.

Although I "just" read a comment at the AMD/[H] eyefinity test that some screens at 1080p or below can work ok with the cheaper adapters (AMD reportedly said this).
If you have 1920x1200 screens, completely out of luck.
