5770 to 560 worthwhile upgrade?

Specs as in sig, but basically i3-530 @ 3.0GHz and a 5770 running slightly OC-ed @ 900/1300.

I'm playing Witcher 2 now @ 1680x1050. I have most of the settings on high and I'm satisfied with the image quality, but the FPS is not as smooth as I'd like.
Also, I'll be upgrading to a 1920x1080 monitor soon, so the 5770 will struggle even more then.

At the moment however, the main upgrade I can afford will be a regular 560. Is this a worthwhile enough upgrade to handle games at 1080p? I assume I'm mainly GPU bound now rather than CPU limited. Or should I save till I can get a 560 Ti?
Besides Witcher 2, I'll be playing BF3, MW3 and most importantly, Skyrim.

You should be ok with a 560 @ 1680 x 1050 for now.

Once you go to 1080p with BF3 and skyrim you may be both GPU and CPU limited especially if you want it on high settings.

I'm running 1080p skyrim on high with 5770 and Q9450 and it runs fine...
BF3 I turned everything to low to get the best performace but it still looks great.
 
OC that bitch !!!! (CPU I mean)

I had a i3-540 at 4.4Ghz for over two years. No reason you shouldn't be able to reach 4GHz easy.... And Yes (!!!) it will make a difference...
 
try OC i3-530 as close to 4.0 as you can...

And try to find a used gtx 560 "ti" with a good heatsink fan (~$150), you can also OC it over 900 mostly stable. You will be fine in 1080p for a good while.
 
A regular gtx560 will overclock to 940 core easy with voltage and will be faster than a gtx560ti..
 
I'd say it would be worthwhile. If you can wait a week just see what deals come on black friday.
