ASUS 5770, MSI K9A2 CF latest bios, Phenom II X2 550, M-Audio 24/96, Win7x64 - No overclocks no nothing.
The system simply gets set to chug when it's triggered. Cat center says the GPU usage is at 99%, a lot of waiting&loading dialogues come and go while the card downclocks and upclocks, from 150 core to default 850core, back and forth.
Happens often with accelerated fullscreen flash video, like Viddler. A bit less when it's not accelerated. Happened all the time with accelerated fullscreen regular videos using Media Player Classic (as an example), less without the hardware acceleration but still happens. When it's not fullscreen I'm perfectly safe and sound, for some reason. It does this on both the 9.11 press betas and the drivers that came with the card.
Is it a driver & software issue? Any way to make it not get stuck in this loop? The only way to get rid of it is to reboot.
e: Temporary fix = run a small mandelbrot applet in the background to keep the card at 3D clocks. That brought it down to 400 core
