Hello everyone,
I just got a new XFX 5770 for my HTPC. I'm running Windows 7 Pro 32-bit and have installed the 10.1 drivers. I'm using the HDMI connector to my AVR having it set for 5.1 24/192 output.
Unfortunately when I run Media Center I get static from various speakers and then odd channel switching behavior where what was on the front left/right channels switches to the back and so on. Everything is fairly random. If that doesn't happen then I usually end up with a 2 second loop of whatever audio was first played in the file. Video playback is smooth at all times. Finally after several seconds I usually get the "Video Error: Please restart Media Center or your computer" message.
What's more odd is that if I play the same file in Windows Media Player I get perfect playback.
I have tried doing a complete uninstall and reinstall of the driver, i've used 9.12 drivers, and have even tried disabling all other onboard audio/video devices. This is an entirely fresh install of Windows.
Has anyone heard of or seen this issue before? Do I have a bad video card?
