Hey guys I am about to trade a guy a 5700ultra for a 9700 pro. Anyway I was wondering if it was worth it and if the 9700 pro is better and if it is how much better/worse. Thanks

9700pro=Way better. FX series cards do DX9 applications very, very poorly.

Comparing an FX5700ultra to a 9700pro is like comparing a 9600XT to the 9700pro.

9700pro, w/o contest.

Yes, you'll see a pretty good sized improvment. No matter what people say, the 9700 Pro is still a great card today, in fact up until a few months ago, that's what I played on for over a year and a half. :)

no, it's like comparing a 9600 pro to a 9800xt

9700 Pro still strong card. Had it and enjoyed it for about 3 weeks :-P

9700 over the FX any day the FX line just sucked as a hole >.<

Nice then I am deffinatly trading him that. I just traded him my 5900 flashed to 5950 for a 9800xt with that big zalman cooler. Also how simmilar is the 9700pro to the 9800pro it is just clock speed difference?

The 9800 Pro has a few minor clock bump ups and a few core improvments, but they are still very very close in performance.
