570 or wait for Toxic 6950?

What do you think? Newegg has a 570 for $269 after MIR, about the same price as the Toxic 6950 after MIR.

However, I have no idea how long the 6950 will be out of stock or when I'll be able to get in on one.

Is it worth waiting? 1920x1200
 
why would you want to wait for something that is slower, worse drivers, bsod?

it makes no sense to me at all.
 
Has some more RAM, most of the benchmarks I've seen put them pretty closer, lower power draw, potential to unlock to a 6970

Those are most of the reasons. That being said, I'm not concerned either way, I have no love or hate for either AMD or nVidia, just want to buy what makes the most sense.

???, worse drivers? bsod? I've never had ANY bsod or driver issues with the 6xxx series cards even when running x-fire on any the computers in my house. No issues either when I had a GTX 580.

OP, I am not sure when the Toxic will be back in stock. From what I have read it is a limited production card. Personally I would even be tempted to pick one of the Toxic's just to play with. The Galaxy GTX 570 deal out there at the moment is good, if you cannot wait I do not think you would be disappointed with that card. Also if you want to roll the dice, the Sapphire HD 6950 Dirt 3 edition card has unlock potential with the dual bios switch, it is $245 AR and comes with 2 games at Newegg or Superbiiz. Either way, at your resolution, both the 570 or 6950 will be great performers.
 
Decided to pull the trigger on the 570. I did ATI last time, nVidia before that and ATI before that.. and nVidia before that.. so may as well keep up the tradition :p

the 570 will be fun and now you don't have to wait on the other card to come back in stock.
