Hi, I just bought a videocard and am wondering if it is any good. I wanted to spend no more than $60 and be able to play Doom 3, HL2, and Halo on low. My system is old, but it is tweaked good and the games ran well on an ATI 9100. I was going to go with a Ti4400 for $55, but some guy offered me a 5600XT for $56 shipped with a cooler. He said it was 128 mb DDR, 256 bit, and 325/650. The specs were much better than the Ti4400 and it wa DX9 so I bought it. After I sent the money, he told me it was 256 bit core and 128 bit memory. He also said it is 235/400 and the other specs were overclocked. He already shipped me the card, so there is nothing I can do. If I don't like it I can probably sell it for what I paid for it, do you think it is a good deal? How will this card perform?

ermm...there is no such card called a 5600 xt that I am aware of, the xt suffix is an ATi moniker while the 5600 is an Nvidia model number. The 5600 was a pretty piss poor part when it came out, but for 60$ it wouldn't necessarily be a bad buy, although if you bought that card on ebay or some place that allows you to give feedback about the seller I would definitely leave negative feedback since he obviously greatly inflated the stats on the card.

It is a real card. The XT is actually the lowest end Nvidia card. I did not buy it off of EBAY.

OMFG....that ti4400 would be twice as fast as ur so called "5600xt"...it is a real card... but sucks ass...first of all

1)I am pissed you got ripped-off
2)If you tell me the address of where he lives..I will go to his house and beat the living crap outta him
3)your 5600xt runs slower than a plain fx5200 250/400 compared to ur 235/400 ;(

and for all the games you wanna play..HL2 will be on dx7..that card cannot even handle directx8.1 at decent fps...unless playing at 640x420?

Halo is a crappy coded game for pc...choppy at 800x600 and doom3..hahahhah
anyways..sell it for as much as you can and grab that ti4400...much better card

Yeah, the 5600XT is a real card, it's just not that common. Also, it's a hair above a 5200 if even, which is below the TI200. So basically you got a GeForce3 level card with poor DX9!

Also, they have 64bit memory.

I'm completely amazed you turned down a TI4400.

so who is this dude who sold you this card so we can all go heckle him and make sure nobody ever buys anything from him ever again?

Even if it is, you are still getting a bad card. I dont think you were ripped off really, since $56 isnt that much. You just should have gone with the TI4400 or at least asked us first. Why ask AFTER you bought it? Did you just register in order to ask us?

if u sent the money thru paypal, then report it to them and theyll get ur money back. That Ti4400 is way better then ur so-called 5600XT.

Why would he falsly report fraud? The 5600XT does exist. Sure, it isnt very good, but it's the buyer's fault for getting it.

Reread the original post. The guy was intentionally misleading in the product description & only told the buyer what he was really getting after the money had been sent. Granted, had the buyer should've taken the 5min to look for a review or specs on the card, we wouldn't be talking about this right now but you can be sure that the seller would've tried pulling the same gig on another sucker.

He said his old card was a TI4200 and he liked the FX much better. He does seem like a good seller and he showed a lot of benchmarks where the FX was better. He included a hardcano cooler, Splinter CEll and 2 other games, AND a Ti4200 for only $20 more dollars. So that is a great deal for $76 shipped right.

You have a problem. The ATI 9100 you already have is probably faster. The 9100 just BARELY loses to a full FX5600, so would probalby beat a FX 5600 XT.

My 9100 is in another pc. The one I bought the card for has a geforce 2. How would the TI4200 compare to the 9100. BTW, the 9100 overclocks to 275/550 but the FX5600 Overclocks to 325/625. It also has twice the memory.

I had a ti4200. When i upgraded to a 5700, i was dismayed that the performance difference was negligible. I can only imagine how bad the 5600xt is.

ATI XT = Upped (or extreme) version of a standard card (9600xt>9600)

nVidia XT = Scaled down version of a standard card (5900>5900xt>5700)

Sorry man, but looks like you got sales talked.
