I currently have a 4000+ Ocd to 2.74ghz. I want to upgrade my cpu but I dont know if the $50 difference between the 5600 and the 6400BE is justified. Should I just go ahead and get the 6400?

Ram is 2gb of G.skil, mobo is a biostar 570 sli, Sound Blaster audigy se, currently waiting for my step up cards which are dual 8800gt.

Personally I would pay the $50 to get a guaranteed clock speed of 3.2 & zero stability issues.

I agree, I love my 6400+. It will hold me off til Quad's are pretty much standard and who knows what will be around then. Stable and runs cool for me :p

if you have to upgrade now, i'd get a 5000+ Black edition... ;)
if you can hold off, wait for the next revision of the agena cores

Will my Z3 be enough to cool a 6400+? Is it ok for me to connect my Z3 fan directly into the mb like the stock fan is?

A better question is "Is there anything I can't do now that I can do if I get a CPU that's 450 MHz faster?"

Well I'm not totally sure if it will or not, but when I bought my 6400+ I bought the AC 64 Cooler with it for $20. Mine wont go over 45C. That all depends though.
