56.64 on www.nvidia.com

Edited the title, they are not WHQL, thought they were...

They are WHQL certified

note the note

* While this driver is not WHQL certified on TNT2, GeForce 256, GeForce2 GTS/Pro/Ti, and GeForce3 graphics boards, it will install and function correctly.

But it is WHQL on GFFX cards

It asked me when installing if I wanted to continue anyways because it wasnt  I see what you're talking about now though, odd it asked me when I have a 5900.

I'm confused now too, I see what you are talking about

It says the International version is WHQL

International
WHQL Certified*
File Size: 14.5 MB

But the English non International isn't WHQL?

I'm highly confused :D

I got the US version, didnt want the extra crap. Try it and see if it asks you.. it probably will.

Let me know if it's worth to update from the 53.03s. :D

I just realized something. We have an Officail Catalyst 4.3 thread that is stickied. How come there never is an Official nVidia driver thread that gets stickied? Seems a little biased to me.:(

I just noticed that too.

And reading up on the drivers I came across this. What gives? Can anyone give an update as to whether or not these "performance issues" were fixed?

Insomniak

They're not WHQL, but still... I like, I like...

EDIT: The english version isn't WHQL, which is what I use...

EDIT #2: Oh yeah, and the UT2004 bug is still in there. I tried playing the demo with the 56.64s and performance was 15 FPS lower on average than the 53.03s. Back to 53.03 it is then.

I can't sticky, hopefully a mod will see this and sticky it.

Can anyone else confirm if the UT2004 performance bug is still there? I never actually benched UT2004 with the 53.XX drivers, but I didn't notice any massive slowdowns with 56.64.

I don't know if it is possible to bench ut2004 but I will turn on fps in onslaught and look at ave framerates. Also, I think retail comes out today or tomorrow and hopefully it will have a benchmark tool.

anyone know if there is any performance increase with these for the Ti4600? I know it's an older card and I still use the 40.72's cause they gave me the best performance overall. Any info would be beneficial. Thanks

Nope, you have the best drivers for that card. Anything else after is optimized for the FX series.

Fucking nvidia :-/ well I only gave 100 bux for the card 3 months ago so it's all good I reckon. Need to upgrade but i'm getting married next month.

There are a few benches out for the demo, I posted on here, but cant search these forums...

http://webpages.charter.net/smithcm/ut2004/ut2004_benchmarks.zip

I didnt bench it before I upgraded, so I cant say for sure if its there or not.

I haven't noticed any slowdowns in the UT2004 demo, with everything maxed and 4xAA it's smooth as silk on my GFFX5900. All the benchmarks I've run (well, only 3DMark03 and AquaMark2...) seem to indicate a very slight performance increase all-around. The only bug I've noticed so far is that both Farcry demos are messed up (flashing textures, missing fog, etc.). I'll probably keeps these installed, the automatic game profiles are much more convenient then in RivaTuner and that's a big plus in my book.

Married?!?! When did this happen??

When I got back from basic my girl and I decided to get married. You should come up for the wedding, it's the 24th of april. I need to do a donate to a broke family fund. :D

Infact nVidia has gone out of their way to remove some performance features for the GF4 in newer drivers. According to Unwinder (the author of Rivatuner), and some websites (Digit-Life, Tech-Report, 3DCenter, and some others), early Z-Occulusion was removed on GF4 cards in newer detonator drivers to make the performance gap between the GFFX and GF4 appear larger.

Here is a post from Unwinder on a forum:
http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?threadid=72198

I've read the same on the above websites but it's too much trouble to find those links.

I will see if I can make the necessary arrangements to do so but don't hold your breath.:(

Give him a video card as a wedding present. I bet his wife would love it.

The ones I downloaded from the ftp this early am where WHQL certified on my FX.

The Demo actually runs quite a bit faster on my 5900U, Generals runs better as well. That is all I have tested, but at least the performance bug seems to be gone, wich isn't suprising. Oh, this is running on an AXP2800 with 1GB of DDR333 and settings at 1600x1200 with 4Xaa and 8XAF, runs smooth as can be.

Did anyone have issues after installing 56.64 certified driver? Screwed up my screen big time, color was placed at 8 bit color, Never seen that before. I went back to the 56.56 and all was fine. I know it's not my vid card.
