Hello,

June of '05 i purchased a custom computer with a ENERMAX Whisper II 535w PSU and has been running my dual 7800GTXs fine since.

Now im going to be doing a update and ill be getting a EVGA 680i MB, E6600, and a single 8800GTX, will my PSU be fine for the single GPU setup?

I understand it would not be enough for 2 8800s but i do not plan on going there for awhile.. and when i do i know ill need a new PSU. But this 535w should hold me over with single 8800GTX correct?

thanks.

Very good info thanks... but if im going to be getting a new PSU i might as well get one that can handle a SLI setup in future and beyond...

Might as well fork out extra and get that badass PCP&C 1kw PSU for ~$500.(ouch)

You should be fine. That supply has plenty of juice for what you're trying to do.

Don't get 1k PSU's for the sake of the "1kW" thing. Amps, not watts.

Any [good brand!] PSU >650-700W should have enough amps on the +12 to handle G80 SLI's.
