so i'm really starting to think about upgrading my system as it's starting to show it's age

i currently have a 520w powerstream powering my rig which ideally i would love to keep to reduce the costs of an upgrade but would it be enough for an upgrade with core2, 2 gigs of ram, 2-3 hd's, dvd burner, and possibly an 8800 ?

Way to elaborate, guys.

You'll be fine if you want to run an 8800GTS. It will run a GTX, but that power supply is prone to excessive power ripple at higher loads, which can reduce the life of your components. If the GTX is what you want to get, either replace the power supply at the same time or as soon as possible.

thanks for the advice.

the upgrade is still a fair ways off so it will most likely entail a new psu as well allowing me to keep this rig up and running for a while longer for other purposes :)

My antec runs my 8800gtx in my sig fine with a overclocked x2 at 2.8... i can even o/c the 8800gtx. I am how ever planning to get a 750wish soon but it does run it just run. Ive ran prime 95 and rthdrl etc to max everything out and the psu doesnt die.
