I just bought a brand new Rosewill Geforce FX 5200 from new egg and installed it in my computer. It has both DVI and VGA outputs.
This video card has noticable video noise at my current res of 1600 by 1200 @ 65hz. It has the same at any other res, but it's more noticable at the higher res'es. It has the video quality of a mid 90s ATi card at high res.
I had a GF2 MX in here before this card. The video quality was very good.
Now I'm wondering if this could be caused by the fact that I'm using the VGA port, which has a ribon cable going to it on the card itself. Maybe using the DVI port with an adapter will correct this? Or did I get another defuct card?
I bought a refurb 5200 before this and it had video noise as well. Only much worse. It also had VGA and DVI ports. I sent it back.
