hi all, just about to replace my old 37 inch lcd. right now im really liking the samsung 850 series, my budget is around 2-2.3k, any feedback would be much appreciated

I have the 52A650 and I love it. No issues at all. I have had it sense May of last year. I paid $2250.00 at Amazon.com; it should be less than that now. The 750 and 850 have more features, but the same 50k to 1 contrast ratio. I have seen the 750 and I actually like the 650 better. I can not comment on the 850, because I stopped researching TVs when I got mine.

I highly reccomend Amazon.com, they have great prices, 30 day return policy, and fast delivery.

Go to your local BigBox stores and look at everything, research on the AVSForums, then buy from Amazon.com. That is what I did and I am very pleased with the hole experience.

Best of luck

Dave

Great advice!

I chuckled, you said "hole." <insert Beavis and Butthead laugh>

Oops! Where is the spell/grammer checker when you need it

I had some time to kill last night, so I took my own advice and checked out the latest and greatest at AVS. It looks like the 950 is the way to go these days. LED backlight with local dimming improves the black level even further. I knew about the 9 series back when I bought my 6 series, but back then they were projected to cost about $5k which is more then I am willing to spend on any LCD or Plasma. There are some guys in this http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1060111 thread claiming they got the 9 series for under $3k.

The more research you do the better purchase you will make
