I noticed while installing a couple things on my laptop (in signature) the write speeds were incredibly slow. I ran CrystalDiskMark to check it out and sure enough, ~50mb/s. CrystalDiskInfo says the health is at 100%.

Does this mean the ssd is bad? Could it be something else? Any other things I can try?

check and make sure the disk is not in 'compatibility' mode in the bios. could be called a lot of things so you might have to post back with what the options are, that speed makes me think it is not handed to the OS correctly.

do you have trim running on your ssd?

Was it a lot of small files it was writing? That can be slower.

I'd verify sata is in AHCI mode and your OS is performing trim functions.

Thanks for all the replies, I installed the drive meter desktop gadget (only way I could think to monitor it) and ran it again and got 327 mb/s. It was probably Windows 10 doing some stuff behind my back like always.

Sorry for the shitpost lol.

I seriously almost bought a 1tb m.2 to replace it too lol. Still might...
