Yes, I've seen it. It's overpriced and ugly. Asthetics are something people will always disagree on, but Lian-Li cases are quality cases regardless of how they look. My PC-65 is just as good as that ugly SILVER thing.dwayne001 said:EnderW Black cases are cooler? Have you seen what Lian Li is selling nowadays???? The PC V1200 is the nicest thing around dude, hands down.
I love my PC-65B, I'd take it over a XaserIII anyday.dwayne001 said:And unlike your boxy pc-65, its got the curves to match.
YOU DON'T NEED TO OVERCLOCK A $5000 COMPUTER!! How many times do I have to say it? Most people overclock because they want more for their money. There is no need to overclock when you have the fastest of everything. Stability is much more important to me then 100 more points in fucking 3dmark.dwayne001 said:You dont build a $5000 machine if youre not gonna take advantage of those resources to get the most for your money. What kind of enthusiast are youno Ocing its why half the parts you chose are hot--- the Board you chose, the Ram, the chip (you chose the 3.4C..if you didnt care about OCing, you would have chosen the 3.4E..its got more cache, and it supports the new multimedia spec.), all wildly popular because of their over-clocking abilities.
So you're saying anyone that builds their own computer and doesn't OC, should buy a prebuilt machine?dwayne001 said:If you want a fast machine at stock speeds, get a Dell Dimension XPS. Even Alienware has over-clock-able units
Why? Because I can, and when I want to game, I will have plenty of power to run my games at 1600x1200.dwayne001 said:The best part was when you you pull all this hardware, call it a Dram Machine and then say you dont do a lot of gaming. Why have the vid card then? Get a 9800 XT and spend the cash on what you DO do on your machine.
I had a pair of Sennheiser HD580s, but I sold them, b/c I don't like wearing headphones. Who said anything about porn?dwayne001 said:Like a nice set of headphones so the neighbours dont hear the audio tracks of all the porn you plan on keeping on that half-terabyte monster.
The option is open whenever I want. If I wanted to add extreme cooling down the line, I could, no problem.dwayne001 said:Disagree with me please, but spare me the lies! Even if you didnt over-clock it at first, for $5000 youd be crazy not to include the option. Especially w/ the hardware your pushing.
No, it doesn't mean that at all. It means spending money on what I want - not what you think is cool.dwayne001 said:And no use for a fan controller? Even if you worked at stock speeds, a $5000 machine means that you have control over every little thingthats what youre paying for.
What can I do at 4GHz that I can't do at 3.4GHz? Nothing, maybe my benchmarks will be faster, but normal everyday usage, I'd never tell the difference.dwayne001 said:No real performance in an overclock? Ive seen 3.4C pushed beyond 4ghz w/ the proper cooling and man, thats a significant difference.
I'm not loyal to Plextor, it's just that the Plextor Premium is one of the best drives you can get and there is no reason not to. Remember this is my rig, not your's.dwayne001 said:I still dont get the thing with the Plextor Premuim. Personally, Ive never been loyal to a company..I look at whats out there and when it comes to CD-RWs, theres crap and theres what works. I cant see the Plextor burning any better than the Samsung given Nero 6 and reasonable media.
Compared to my NEC-2500A, it's very loud. I don't know why you are so in love with the Samsung combo drive anyway.dwayne001 said:As for loudnesssince youre not letting us know what cools your rig we have no idea how loud it is with or without said drive. I like quiet, but its not like Im gonna try to sleep during the 4 min it takes to burn a CD.
How the fuck are my specs 'lazy'? Because I don't have a silver case with a bunch of fucking LEDs and cathodes in it with lots of case stickers so it looks like the computer equivelent of a riced out civic? UBAR COMPUTER D00D!!! Becuase I don't OC when I see no need to?dwayne001 said:The bottom line is that it's fine that you 'want' x drive and y (black) case, etc., but don't go claiming to be making a Dream Computer with those lazy specs.
Looks and performance are two different things. I'm not buying this compuer and if I was, I'd do some more research and perhaps change a few things, but there is nothing wrong with that parts I've chosen. They are top of the line and would work fine together.dwayne001 said:We all read and contribute here because we pretty much agree on what makes a machine more than a smattering of partsits what your able to do with them, how youre able to put them together in a package that performs quickly, maybe quietly, but looks astounding to boot.
It's a very cool computer and I'm sure anyone on this forum would take it in a second. Your statement about it's just plug and play doesn't even make sense...would you prefer something hard and complicated to setup?dwayne001 said:When your machine is just plug and play...you got some cool partsits not so cool. Anyone could have that.
You're Limp, I'm Hard.dwayne001 said:Were classified as Gawds on the [H]
Way better then that shitty PC Power & Cooling - what was I thinking?dwayne001 said:Antec TruControl 550 $200.00
(Modded to be modular, sleeved, and react w/ UV lighting)
OMG COOL!!! Neon lights in a computer - how practical!!dwayne001 said:Coldcathode Dual Kit x 2 $18.00
(Two cold cathodes on one switch. Well go UV blue to match the backlighting of the Cooldrive 4 below)
Rocker Switches $29.99
(Three rocker switches that sit in the 3.5 bay. Flip them up and the led in each rocker switch goes on, and it turns on the light of the cathode dual kit its attached to, illuminating your machine. The LEDs will shine blue to match the Cooldrive 4 below)
Not necessary in my opinion when my PC-65 has (2) 80mm fans directly in front of the drive bay cage.dwayne001 said:Coolermaster Cooldrive 4 $40.00
(Controls 4 fans and gives you a read out of the temps in all four areas in addition to keeping that crazy WD Raptor drive cool enough to last the life of the warranty.
Over the Klipschs??? You're cazy.dwayne001 said:Logitech Z680 5.1 $250.00
The point of this was to build one $5000 computer, not $5000 worth of computer parts. Perhaps if I was actually going to spend the money, I'd do things differently, I'm not so it's not important.dwayne001 said:Mr. EnderW still has loads of storage and if he wants he can use the remaining $468.10 to take his old machine and put a couple more drives in it..have it sit always on so he can dL whatever he likes without having to worry about rebooting when he installs stuff like XP SP2, etc. Home networks are really useful that way.
Truth be told, in the case of home networks, Id rather take about half of the storage in the above rig and chuck it into the old machine. Add 2 more drives($326). That would leave him w/ about $142 to play with. If youre spending $5k, get yourself a damned network. A router w/ a WAP and a USB wireless adapter should allow him to stuff that old black thing in any corner he wishes .
Lets add one of those web cams and a mic for an additional $50. With the router w/ WAP and the wireless USB adapter ($80) along w/ 2 more hard driveswere down to $02.10 (well say we bought all this end stuff on Amazon or new Egg to get free shipping -- were in no rush)
I'd rather have a pair of sunglasses to shield my eyes from your glowing case.dwayne001 said:so EnderW can buy himself an Ice Cream cone.
Yes, it is a joke. I'm really building the thing.ThA_FiLeR said:this thread's a joke..
why do you say that?mc_P said:EnderW, no offense or anything but you really need to go out more.

DocSavage said:Isn't that a bit expensive for just a 510 watt power supply? Also, if you are going with 1TB of storage, I would get a SATA Raid adapter and one more 250GB drive for Raid 5. I would hate to loose some 250GB of data if just one of those 4 drives fail.
PsyCho_BoB said:I hate you.
That_Sound_Guy said:Course i would never build a machine over $2000. What a waste of cash.
dream caster said:TRANSLATION: "I would love to be able to buy those parts"
dwayne001 said:I'm interested in why Foenix would want to spend the money on RAID 0 considering the evidence suggesting that the performance gain isn't significant. Then again, 74gb for a drive that holds hte ever growing Windows along with ALL of your apps and games prolly needs to be more than the ~60gb you'll get our of that thing at this point.
