Just hit 500 WU and 80,000 pts since I joined the [H]. I'm currently running 3 x console clients on the Phenom, 1 x Graphical client on the 170 Opteron, and a PS3 client. When I get home from work (28 days on the boat, 14 days off) I'll be replacing my Opty 170Media server with the Phenom, and replacing the Phenom with a Q9450 with an nVidia 280GTX. The Q9450 with nVidia client should be a nice increase in PPD. Before anyone asks why no SMP client, it would run, fold a few WU and then stall and never start the next WU. Closing it and restarting it would get it folding, but I can only check on it once a week when I'm offshore. No way I want to loose a week of folding!!!

BTW, from what I've been reading, the GPU2 client with the new GTX280 will probably result in more production alone than everything else you have combined. Should be a drastic increase in PPD. We just have to wait for the NVidia client to be released by Stanford.

Thank you all! As I stated in another thread, I just ordered me a 280GTX to slap in that box. Looks like the media server will get the 8800GTX. Unfortunately, I'm stuck at work for another 10 days or so...

1000WU here I come!

 
if you're gonna roll a quad + GTX, you're not only gonna roll a shit ton of WUs, but also a shit ton of points...

i'm getting roughly 7500 PPD on a Q6600 @ 3.1/8800 GT running 1x SMP, 1x standard, 1x GPU2

500 WU for 85000 points? seems awfully high to me

i have around half of it and only 35 WU

gonna be something yet to see people running the new Nvidia client....I'm pumping out 2 WUs per hour, but for only 98 points a piece, so my stats are gonna become all sorts of batshit insane

 
Yeah, no SMP for me. I've got 3 console clients on the Phenom. I tried the SMP client. It would fold several WU, grab a new one, and then just hang. It did this a couple of times in a row so I stopped running it cuz I'm away from home 4 weeks at a whack. When I build this new system, I'll play with it some more.

what kind of boat? what kind of work? that is a loooong time away from home. just curious! :)
 
It's a 210' dive support vessel. Most of our work is underwater construction for the offshore oil and gas industry in the Gulf of Mexico. We are equiped with a saturation diving complex rated to 1000 feet of seawater, though most of our work is in the 200-500 foot range (Man, that sounded like a sales pitch!)

how often do you dive during your 4 weeks at sea?
 
A 210 ft ship :eek: That just goes to show you the "bad bugs" ain't even safe on the water or safe goin' under it. (and a big "glub", "glub" too ya') :p

I don't dive anymore. Stupid lungs. I'm in charge of maintaining all of the dive equipment. They break it, I fix it...

Ahh.. crap :( That's forked up, I hope your lungs get better. :D

I would think it would take diving experience from a "top notch" diver to maintain diving equipment. .Just think of all the knowledge these IT people have to have about computer operations to fix some of the operators "boo boos". (more PC :p)

Hey, I'm running 1 2100+ Athlon XP and a 3800+ X64 (both home computers) and I have just recently broken 500 WU and I have roughly 84,000 points. I would use the X1900XT but GPU1 client is no more :( I guess I might invest in a 4850 if I can. I'm in college so I don't have the bucks to buy a new PC yet. Someday...
