Any chance of you being able to extend your budget by another $100? As of right now, due to the inclusion of tax and shipping, a Core i5 along with a dedicated GPU (at least one remotely suitable for 1920x1080) is not possible for $500.

Also, what games are you planning on playing?
 
The friend I am building the computer for never had a computer to run some demanding games so he never played on the PC much. So up until now he is interested in doing some PC gaming.

and I talked to him and he agreed to increase the budget to $600. :D
