5 minute boot time???

I have a blurb posted about this in the OS forum, but I figured that it was more relevant here. My computer is taking about 5 minutes to boot. It takes nearly a minute just to detect the hard drives and offer me the option to go into the bios settings. It then takes another minute to load the SATA drivers and detect the SATA drive. This is all before it even attempts to begin loading windows. Any ideas on what might be going on?

You might want to see about deleting one of these threads, Mods tend to dislike cross-posting heavily, and chances are both threads will get locked.

Well the other thread was pretty much for a software problem that got sorta fixed and turned into a hardware problem. I figured a mod would see/read that and take care of it for me.

Anyway, I seemed to have fixed the problems. The original problem turned out to be a bad IDE cable. I replaced it and the drives showed up. But then it was taking forever to boot. Well, when I replaced the IDE cables I originally had a HD and the CD burner on one cable. Because the new cables didn't stretch far enough, I ended up using 2 cables. Well, on the hard drive, I had used the jumper to set it to Master. As I was searching Abit's forums for info, I ran across a post that mentioned WD drives, if on an IDE cable by themselves, prefer to use NO jumper to specify it as master. Not figuring that it would be my problem, but knowing that I had left the jumper in place, I removed it and booted up the computer. BAM!! Damn thing booted right up the first time!
