Hey guys, i have 3 computers at one desk with replay tv (similar to tivo) and an xbox 360 that i want to run all to my klipsch pro medias. in the past i have daisy chained the replaytv into the 1st pc and 1st pc to the 2nd, 2n to 3rd and then to the speakers. well now i have an xbox 360 in the mix and im also having issues with the dasiy chain thing. anyways, im looking for a box that takes 5 inputs and outputs to one source, i know its easy to find those little audio switchers where you can choose what input u want to output but i havent seen anything that outputs all inputs at the same time. a little help? maybe a point in the right direction?

Is this for audio only?

If it is also for video, just use a receiver that does conversion to one source type.

If this is for audio specifically, a receiver still is a good choice.

you need a sound mixer, not a switcher or receiver if you want to hear all the sources at the same time.,

something like this is what you need, but I don't think it's cost effective.

Hey guys, thx for the replies, i was thinking i might have to get a mixer or something, was hoping that this was a more common thing for geeks and there would be a nice desktop thing i could buy. anyways im thinking about this: http://topdjgear.com/nucm19djmi.html 5 channel, but the only thing that gets me is the output, i only see those big connections for output, is there some sort of connector for that so i can plug into my pc?

It "looks" like it has RCA's on the output as well. If you look at the outline around each section you can see OUTPUTS and you have the XLR's and 6 RCA's, but it's too hard to read what each pair are..

you can make XLR to RCA cables, that is what I am using on my Alesis Studio Monitors that I have hooked to my PC.

ok kewl, i downloaded the manual for that thing too and it looks like its gonna work perfect, thx for the help guys, i appriciate it!

If your talking about the EP2500 design where they stole from QSC RMX2450, they don't perform the same eventhough they look similar.

The audio comparisons, QSC clips rather gracefully and sometimes can be hard to tell it is lightly clipping unless the clip light comes on. The Behringer on the other hand clips and lets you know immediately because it just plain sounds bad.

Could there be similarities? Yes, because an amplifier isn't all that complicated unless you start putting in the fancy stuff that helps protect or add features such as a softer clipping mode. All an amp does is take a small input signal, use it to control a larger energy source in a way so that the new output just electrically contains more power. From what I know, they all use some sort of bjt or mosfet transistor, which that same transistor is used in many other brands of amplifiers such as crown and peavey. In fact, these companies may not even make their own amps, except for putting down some specifications and having an oem build it for them.

I'm not a behringer !!!!!!, and initially, I was convinced with the side by side picture comparison of the two amps, but I decided to dig a little deeper and audio tested them too. Besides, I don't think QSC has publicly stated that the EP2500 is a copy of their amp design. I believe they examined the behringer amp and didn't say anything about it leading some people in the audio community to believe that the engineers at QSC were idiots for not being able to recognize their own amp design.

You could also make your own switchbox. All you would need is to buy the right switches and jacks, wire them up properly, and throw it all into a case, but that behringer mixer is probably a cheaper solution.
