I'm learning some networking stuff...

I'm trying to understand a few things here...Lets say I'm using the 5-4-3 rule when designing a network, what if my nodes exceed the 5-4-3, what do I do to continue the network? Add another Router?

and does anyone have an example of the 5-4-3 rule used in say a corporate environment...I appreciate it...

That rule is older than most of the readers in this forum. Today distance issues are fixed with FDSE (Full-Duplex Switched Ethernet), ASIC-based switches, VLANs and hardware routers.

yeah 5-4-3 is dead, 10years ago, it was important, but now with switched networks, store and forwarde, cut through etc, theres no need to worry about colisions beucase everything is mac address controlled
