Ok so i have this logitech 5.1 surround sound for my computer now, but.....only 2 of the speakers are working....

I went to advanced settings to make sure audio was set to 5.1 but not sure why only 2 of the speakers are working right. I apparently have the connections in the sound card matched up correctly, everything seems to be set up fine. Maybe I am missing some settings in the pc itself that is keeping me from having it all work?

Suggestions greatly appreciated, thanks!
 
I had to go into my sound cards settings and tell it that the surround speakers and center/sub was hooked up.
 
do you have a creative labs sound card? i've found that the setting in the creative audio console overrides the windows setting (i had the windows set at 5.1, but creative was set at 2.1, and i was only getting 2.1). check that both are set at 5.1.
 
What kind of card do you have.... that will help.

Again, I had to go into my sound cards settings and tell it that it was 5.1. Just doing it in Windows wont cut it.

And what kind of speaker connection? Digital is 2 channel only, for example, unless you have pre-encoded content (like DVD movies, but *not* games).

Yeah, you have to use the analog for games to get surround.

the advanced settings of your sound card drivers? if you're using a creative labs card, you have to set it to 5.1 in the application that creative installs on your computer because that trumps the windows settings in most cases. it's like with video cards and AA/AF and stuff; whatever's set in your driver takes precedent.
