Hello all,
I am very behind in the audio hardware scene these days. Something I really disliked about my olddd audigy platinum is that (in my belief) the optical input from the front only supported 2.1.
My question is, what cards out there now do 5.1 decoding with the optical input? I did quite an extensive search and my assumption from reading the threads was that almost all do, but there wasn't any CLEAR answer (hence the new thread).
Mainly i'll probably be setting up my xbox 360 to my computer. I'd like to upgrade my sound card to support the 360 optical 5.1 to my computer, and output that signal to my klipsch 5.1. I'd like to avoid all the new gadgetry in say, the x-fi since my audio demands aren't quite high. I just want to ensure 5.1 decoding through the optical input.
Thanks everyone
