I have logitch x-530 speakers and a soundblaster live LS 5.1 soundcard. after i installed the card the way the manufacturer told me to i started playing some music and i noticed that there wasnt any sound comming from the center speaker. I double checked my wireing and card install and it was all perfect. i changed the bios config b/c i was using onboard sound b4 the card. then i went to control panel and changed my speaker setup to 5.1. still nothing. now the software that came with the card has a Control panel in it , i guess you can call it that . and the settings for speakers in there are 2.1, 4.1 and headphones, NO 5.1 ? whats this? i checked to see if there were any updates and what not , and there arnt. iive been going back and 4th through e-mails with creative and they cant seem to fix the problem. any ideas

Thanks for any help you could give.

I dont know about the no option for 5.1 except uninstall and reinstall, but your not gonna get music out of the center channel because music isn't in 5.1 .

make sure u have all the plugs in the right place and it should give you the 5.1 option. To make sound from a stereo source come out all of the speakers make sure you turn on cmss in the eax control panel.

Hey, I also have the exact speakers and card as you. The center channel for me also does not work, I just made a thread on it earlier today and someone said that it usually has to be 5.1 audio to get the center channel to work. When I played something with 5.1 support it worked great.. Don't worry about it!

edit: i'm not sure if you tried this but if you go to the Mixer (i think it was the mixer, try em all) there is a sound tester which basicly says "Right speaker" for the right speaker, and left, ect for all the 5 speakers.. if you hear "center channel" from your center chanel its all good.

i just played a dvd with 5.1 support and nothing. the test thing i did that , but theres only 2.1 and 4.1 for speaker options and when i do 4.1 theres no center(obvisly)heh. this is really getting me mad, IWANT MY 5.1!

Hrm, try downloading the drivers from their website, make sure you get the correct one. While installing you should be asked weather you want 5.1, or any other configuration.

got aim?

Resize that enourmous monstrosity of an image. Your speakers are fine. You need a matrixing algorithm. Uninstall the drivers for your soundcard. Uninstall the card. Reinstall the card using some hacked Audigy 2 ZS drivers.

How do I make the new Creative drivers work with older Creative soundcards?

Use the latest winamp and set it to hardware, and it'll utilize all the speakers including the center.

The Box is saying that the card is a soundblaster live! ls but when installed its showing that its a value card? should i return this card and get another?

No. Who cares what the device is labeled in device manager? You care what it does. Also, if you want help, you're going to have to start using terms a little more precise than "the box".

Looks like you have the Value, and you won't get 5.1 from it. Looking at the back of your card, it's missing the orange connect/or digital out. So f you can return it , do that.

GL :)

WTF? He bought a SB Live! sometime within the last two years? He has the oportunity to return it? Yes. Return it. The Live! is a POS card. I have two of them in a shoebox.

Enable CMSS.

I tried that, the sound changes a little but the center channel doesn't work by doing that?
