Is my best bet for a set of 5.1 digital speakers with a Toslink input going to be the Logitech® Z-5500. I am planning on possibly getting a PowerMac and wanted a new set that is digital to replace my Creative Craps s700. Thanks.
 
1) You can't get 5.1 audio over Toslink unless it's Dolby Digital or DTS encoded. It can only do PCM stereo.

2) The Creative "crap" GigaWorks S700 is a higher quality system than the Logitech one.
 
agreed, the logitechs will not sound better than the gigaworks. maybe louder, but definitely not better
